The Spring NSCA meeting was held today 5/25/13 at 10 AM at the Julian's. It was decided that Honey Patterson would be the Area 6 representative (300-309, 311-3130).
1.A lot of the discussion was based on the reps playing a bigger role in getting their neighbors involved in social events and updating them on association news. Raffle tickets were distributed at the meeting to reps. Judi said she would like for each rep to sell at least $100 in raffle tickets so we could bring in around $1,000 to the Sunshine Fund to help with expenses with the picnic. A change this year will be to add either a Kindle, Mini iPad or Droid device for a top raffle prize. Reps should try to get a head count on people attending this year's picnic when they sell raffle tickets. Also each rep should try to bring at least 2 families from their area to the picnic and Fall Fling this year. Talk it up!!
2. Ideas about this years picnic included a possible Pizza truck, a Pig Roast or just stick with burgers and dogs. The main objective is to increase family participation. A date for the picnic will be determined shortly. Anyone willing to have the picnic at their house should call or email Judi or Lou.
3. Arthur Rubin will look into getting a few "Small Children Go Slow" roadside figures for those families that would like to purchase them for in front of their house during the summer to reduce speeding.
4. We will examine the road to see if any major cracks are present. If so, we will plan to get them repaired. The street does not need professional cleaning this year, but it would be appreciated if home owners can sweep the areas in front of heir homes including beach "Right of Ways". If your neighbor is elderly or ill please help sweep in front of their home
5. Alan is striving to get 100% participation in Road Dues this year. We are very close.
6. We will attempt to contact the Bourne DPW to post some Dead End signs at the beginning of Phillips Road to prevent lost vehicles and RV's from driving down Phillips road trying to get to Sccussett Beach. GPS systems still try to direct drivers down Phillips Rd to get to Sccussett Beach.
7. If you are reading this it means you successfully found Jim's Blog Page. Please document the blog access address and let your neighbors know about it. This can be an awesome way to notify everyone of Association news.
Sincerely,
Lou Julian
